Prospective Students

Department of Turkish Education started its operations in the 1998 - 1999 academic year as the Department of Turkish Education of Atatürk Faculty of Education. In 2016, within the scope of the restructuring studies of education faculties, the Department of Social Sciences and Turkish Education was established and the Department of Turkish Education was affiliated to this department. The training period is four years.

The founding purpose of the department is to train Turkish teachers for secondary schools.

The Department of Turkish Education has been accepting 82 students every academic year since the 1998 - 1999 Academic Year. It had its first graduates at the end of the 2001 - 2002 Academic Year.

Department of Turkish Language Teaching also carries out "master's" and "doctoral" programs in the Department of Turkish Education within the Institute of Educational Sciences.

Our graduates can teach Turkish in public and private schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education.
